Adopt a Foster

Foster families are an integral part of HSHA because they provide temporary homes for animals that we may not be able to care for in the shelter environment. However, these animals often don't get the exposure to potential homes and families because they do not reside in the shelter. But, they are still seeking their FURever home and we hope that you will take the opportunity to review their information below to see if they might be the perfect fit for your home. At this time we do not have any adoptable animals in foster care. Please check back soon for updates.

If you are interested in becoming a foster for HSHA's cats or dogs, please contact Megan Strausbaugh, Director of Marketing at Thank you for your interest!

How Can I Help Homeless Animals in My Community Today?

Currently our greatest need is canned food for both dogs and cats! Our cats prefer pate but the pups aren't picky! In addition, we could use some Clorox Wipes to help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all the sheter's residents.

Check out HSHA's Amazon Wish List for more specific needs.

We have several dogs and cats that are looking for a foster home.  If you think you may be able to help, please visit our Fosters Needed page.
