Dixie Shores

On March 25 Dixie Shores was surrendered, at no fault of her own, by her former owner. This beauty's coat is the perfect mix of grey, buff, and tortoiseshell  making her stand out among the crowd. On July 26 Sharon P. couldn't look away from this stunning girl and new she needed to take Dixie Shores to her FURever home! We recently received an update on Dixie Shores, now named Hazel, and our staff couldn't be happier.

"Hello! After getting Hazel out of the carrier at home, she disappeared for about 12 hours. I searched everywhere... under beds and sofas, in closets, etc. Then she just came bounding out. Now, she is adjusting really well. Hazel loves looking out the big windows at squirrels, chipmunks and birds. She likes tossing her little mice into the air and pouncing on them and the HSHA staff said, she is a lap cat. Today she purred for the first time. She is such a delight!"

How Can I Help Homeless Animals in My Community Today?

Currently our greatest need is canned food for both dogs and cats! Our cats prefer pate but the pups aren't picky! In addition, we could use some Clorox Wipes to help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all the sheter's residents.

Check out HSHA's Amazon Wish List for more specific needs.

We have several dogs and cats that are looking for a foster home.  If you think you may be able to help, please visit our Fosters Needed page.
