Ranger Update

Ranger, known as Rebel while at the shelter, arrived as a stray from the City of Harrisburg. This young an energetic pup stayed at HSHA for only a brief period of time before his FURever family discovered him and all his glory! Recently his adopters sent us an update on the past year of his life. Read all about Ranger's adventures below:

I like to send updates from time to time. Ranger (aka "Rebel") is happier than ever, almost a year and a half after his adoption! He smiles constantly (see attached photo) and loves long walks and playing fetch in the back yard. He's a very busy young man who still enjoys doing his nightly zoomies on the stairs, chewing bones, chasing tennis balls, snuggling with blankets, and laying in the yard watching airplanes.  We actually took him (and his lab/pit sister) on an overnight camping trip in September. He hiked 7 miles, slept overnight in our tent (to be specific, he worked his way into my sleeping bag), and hiked 7 miles back to the car the next morning! He absolutely adored spending so much time in nature.

Thank you so much for our special boy! Happy holidays!

How Can I Help Homeless Animals in My Community Today?

Currently our greatest need is canned food for both dogs and cats! Our cats prefer pate but the pups aren't picky! In addition, we could use some Clorox Wipes to help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all the sheter's residents.

Check out HSHA's Amazon Wish List for more specific needs.

We have several dogs and cats that are looking for a foster home.  If you think you may be able to help, please visit our Fosters Needed page.
