I'm so happy to be able to share our adoption story. My fiance and I decided to look into pet adoption shortly after moving to the Central PA area in 2012. Only a few moments after beginning the walk through the cat area of the Humane Society, we spotted him: a wide-eyed gray and black tiger striped fellow named Roosevelt. When we peeked into the cage, he began pawing at the glass and rubbing against it. It was love at first sight! We brought him home in October 2012 …
I came into the shelter as I usually do once a month and drop off donations and check out the dogs for adoption. I was interested in a small dog that had the same energetic personality as me. In August 2012, I happen to run into Carla at the shelter, one of the volunteers who was fostering a four month old Jackahuahua that was dropped off at the kennel because he had a broken leg and they couldn’t afford the surgery. Carla nursed him back to health and took incredible …
Here is Annie ( formerly Whomp Whomp) snuggling with her favorite person in the world. She does not leave his side at night and they are best buddies. Annie and our bigger dog, Cooper, are wonderful playmates. She is overly interested in the cats but that seems to be settling down already. She has had no accidents in the house, and enjoys having her crate- she just walks right in and settles down with a toy or four to shred while I am away at work.
Thanks to your crew for taking such …
We wanted to thank everyone that helped us get our new fur baby Dooser! Dooser is now Dozer. The kids renamed him because he likes to bulldoze you over when playing and since he's a bulldog they said it fits! Dozer has come home and has been such a delight. We added him to our family to help our son with his therapy. He is already attached to him and where ever he goes Dozer is right there with him. He is starting to adjust well to his new surroundings. He loves to go in the car and is eager to …
We adopted Miri on September 10, 2012. What can I say? I volunteered at the shelter and passed by Miri. Unfortunately, so did so many others. Miri was always barking! You know the "crazy" dog you may see in their kennel. Anyways one day as my family and I were searching for a dog of our own, Betty showed us Miri. It was instant, Miri fell in love and I was showed an entirely different dog. We took her home that very day! A valuable lesson learned, NEVER EVER judge a DOG by its cover! I've been …
We all are enjoying the loveable and playful cat, Kodi, that we adopted from the Humane Society on January 12th of this year. He has been an absolute delight and fit in well with our family. I'm sure you must miss him, but know that he is being well taken care of! Many thanks for all your help!
