Joanna is sweet and mild-mannered kitten (approx. 8 months old) who was found wandering the cold streets of Harrisburg City right before Christmas. Thankfully for her a good Samaritan scooped her up and brought her to the Humane Society. Unfortunately, Joanna was found to have a very high grade heart murmur, most likely due to a birth defect. She is medically stable and current not on any medications, however, we unable to give an idea as to her life expectancy due to her medical condition. There is a chance that she could live a full happy and healthy life, but there is also a chance she may have a limited life span as well. Because of this we are seeking a permanent foster home for Joanna. If you would choose to be her “permafoster” the Humane Society of Harrisburg would continue to provide health checkups and treatment to her at no cost to you. You would only be financially responsible for her basic daily needs- food, litter, etc. Joanna was so lucky to be rescued from the city streets- we are hoping we can help her catch one more lucky break… by finding someone to give her a loving home.

Please contact Aspasia Yeager at or by calling 717-564-3320 ext. 108 if you would like more information on Joanna, or with questions about HSHA’s PermaFoster program.
