Harrisburg, PA – March has arrived and so has the start of March Muttness 2023! This bracket-style tournament includes dozens of teams, or shelters, from across the country and will benefit homeless pets from Hawaii to New England. March 1 marks the start of Round One: All Tails In.  Humane Society of Harrisburg Area is participating in March Muttness for the first time.

Only 32 teams can continue to Round Two: The Thrilling 32, and fans have the final say on who moves on. Cheer on your favorite teams and give them a boost by donating at MarchMuttness.org.

March Muttness is a friendly competition among shelters nationwide to see who can raise the most funds for their shelter. Each week, the top fundraisers move on to the next round until one shelter is named the ultimate champion. Of course, homeless pets are the real winners!

About HSHA: The mission of the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) is to build a better community for pets and people through compassion, protection, education, and collaboration.  HSHA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving the community and providing care for homeless animals since 1911.  The organization accepts homeless animals regardless of their breed, age, medical condition, or behavioral condition and takes in thousands of homeless animals each year.  However, HSHA does not euthanize adoptable animals due to lack of space or length of stay.  The organization receives no funding from the government or other animal welfare groups and must rely on private donations and fundraising activities to support its mission.
