Areas of Texas are experiencing catastrophic flooding for the second July in a row. Shelters in the flood zone are overwhelmed, some evacuated entirely.
Right now, a Wings for Rescue flight, in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society is on the way, with dogs and cats lifted out of the flood-ravaged areas of Texas, and every animal on board is ours to protect.
These animals were already homeless before the floods, and moving them to safety opens space at shelters in Texas to focus on relief efforts and reuniting displaced pets with their families.
When that plane door opens, our team will be there to meet them. Each dog and cat will be evaluated and given the care and medical attention they need to be ready for a new home.
This is where you come in.
• $50 vaccinates and microchips one flood survivor
• $150 covers one animal’s complete intake and medical care
• $300 sponsors adoption fees for one survivor
As a Brandywine Valley SPCA shelter, the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area is helping any way it can in this lifesaving mission. In addition to asking for donations to help these flood victims, in order to make room and encourage more adoptions, we are offering Pick Your Price adoption fees for all large adult dogs (1yr+ & 40lbs+) and adult cats (6mos+) all week long, July 21-26, made possible in part by Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Potential adopters can stop by to pick their price and welcome a new companion into their home to support this lifesaving mission.
Texas needs our help.
