Help Pets Find a Home for the Holidays at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area’s Holiday Adopt-a-Thon

What:  Give the gift of a “fur-ever” home this holiday season. HSHA’s annual Holiday Adopt-a-Thon features a reduced adoption rate of $20 for all dogs and $10 for cats, kittens and critters.  The reduced adoption rate still includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip and basic vaccines!

Who:  The mission of HSHA is to build a better community for pets and people through compassion, protection, education and collaboration.  The organization accepts homeless animals regardless of their breed, age, medical condition or behavioral condition and takes in thousands of homeless animals each year.

Why:  The Holiday Adopt-a-Thon is held to encourage the community to consider adoption and help these adoptable pets find a home in time for the holidays.

Who should attend:  Any individual or family looking for a new furry family member. This year, you can enjoy the Adopt-a-Thon from the comfort of your couch or stop by to see the pets available – either option gets you the same discount, and all applications are timestamped and viewed in the order they are received (both online and paper applications).

When:   Saturday, December 4th.   Any approved online adoption applications received between 10am and 7pm that day is eligible for the reduced adoption rate.  Alternatively, guests may visit HSHA between 11am-7pm and fill out an adoption application.

Where:  All adoptable pets can be viewed online at  humanesocietyhbg.org/adopt/adopt-a-pet/ .  Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a better community for pets and people through compassion, protection, education and collaboration.  HSHA accepts homeless animals regardless of their breed, age, medical condition, or behavioral condition.  However, HSHA does not euthanize adoptable animals due to lack of space or length of stay.  The shelter assists over 10,000 animals a year through its residential care and adoption program, low-cost veterinary clinics and Veterinary Resource Center, pet food programs, and counseling services.  Learn more at humanesocietyhbg.org.
