Two Dogs Find Hope at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area

How it started and how it’s going.  These two dogs came to HSHA in different ways, but both very broken.  But, to see them today, you would have no idea the trauma they have endured.

Sarabi was found abandoned in a crate in a parking lot.  She was brought to HSHA, extremely terrified and could barely keep her head up. Why?  Because she was wearing a chain that weighed five pounds.

Today, Sarabi can’t stop smiling!  Our behavior team has worked hard to rehabilitate her and make her a happy and adoptable dog!

Belladonna was abandoned at our shelter overnight. When staff found her, her leash broke and she ran across the street to Don’s Performance Corner, Inc. Luckily, our Director of Resident Services was able to get her into her car. Belladonna was very scared and covered in poop from her ordeal, but all Nicole cared about was getting her to the shelter and to safety.

Belladonna today is a much happier girl, as you can see from the photo of her the day she was found abandoned and a photo of her today. Don’s Performance also is partially paying for her adoption fee with our Guardian Angel Program. There are lots of heros that helped get Belladonna here safely and ready for adoption!

These two girls endured a lot but, with love and patience, they have become happy dogs ready to find the perfect family for them!
