Report Cruelty

Still recovering from Helene’s devastation, so many shelters in Florida are preparing for another historic storm. As we worry for the safety of so many in the path of Hurricane Milton, it’s time for us all to prepare to respond, and we need your help.

Our affiliate partners in Pennsylvania, Brandywine Valley SPCA will welcome more than two dozen cats fleeing Florida ahead of Milton’s landfall, but this is just the beginning.

Now is the time to adopt to open space for this lifesaving mission. Through October 16, we are joining BVSPCA and the Animal Adoption Center in New Jersey to waive adoption fees for all large adult dogs and adult cats. This special applies to dogs 1 year+ & 40 lbs. + and cats 6 months +.

Adopting one can save two lives by opening space for another animal in need. Adoption hours are Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

How You Can Help

We’re doing this work on top of our regular daily work to help lost and stray animals, cruelty victims, and pets needing rehoming. We need your support to help the homeless pets and people of Florida at this critical time. Make a donation to support this disaster relief work and consider welcoming one of these rescues into your home if you’ve been thinking about adopting.

We’ll keep you posted as the work evolves. We’re grateful to have you in our community.

Donate now to support this lifesaving disaster response.

Please note we close to the public at 3pm on New Year's Eve.  The shelter is closed New Year's Day, but be sure to join us at the Penguin Plunge on City Island. Learn more at www.thepenguinplunge.com!
