Volunteer
HSHA Volunteer
Your time, energy, and passion can improve the lives of animals in need and contribute to bettering your community – all while providing you with an experience that is deeply rewarding. Our volunteer program is a chance to live your passion, share your talents, meet like-minded people, and even potentially learn new skills. And your impact on the precious lives of animals is immeasurable. Whether you are interested in walking dogs, helping at events, or socializing cats, there is a place for you at HSHA. The animals are waiting for you … get started today!
Junior Volunteers
Is your child interested in volunteering? If they’re between 8 and 12 years of age, they can join our junior volunteer program. After the child and chaperone or guardian (18 years+) have both submitted volunteer applications and have attended a volunteer orientation, the volunteer fun begins. Junior volunteers can tag along as you help out and participate in activities such as puppy socialization, kitten socialization, grooming, and reading to companions under your supervision.
Day of Service Volunteering
We’re fortunate to have businesses whose staff enjoy coming to the shelter for service days. They help keep our shelter clean and organized while giving love to our animals along the way. Can your corporate team lend a paw? Click below to schedule a service day.
Community Service Volunteering
Community service and volunteering are often confused. If you’ve been court-ordered to do community service or need school credit, we’ve got you covered.
