Media Alert: It’s Christmas in July at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area’s Adopt-a-Thon
We may be experiencing a summer heat wave, but the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) is celebrating like its Christmas Day! HSHA’s annual Christmas in July Adopt-a-Thon features a reduced adoption rate of $20 for all dogs and $10 for cats, kittens and critters. The reduced adoption rate still includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip and basic vaccines!

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) has started off the second half of 2023 by filling three key roles in the organization. HSHA hired Brittany Leggore, CPA as Chief Financial Officer and hired Dr. Kelsi Nagy as Shelter Veterinarian. In addition, Marley Warren of SEK CPAs & Advisors has been named Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) invites the community to take the plunge for homeless pets at the 2023 Penguin Plunge on Sunday, January 1st at Noon (registration starts at 10:00am) on the beach at City Island. Hundreds are expected to be in attendance, either to jump into the icy waters of the Susquehanna River or to cheer on the “Plungers.”
