Join the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area for a special adoption event: CAToberfest. During this event, any application received and approved from October 24th through October 29th for adoption of a black, tortie, torbie, orange, or “ghostly” (all-white) cat will get the scary low adoption fee discount of 50% off. This includes spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccines, and microchip!

Pitbulls make up a large percentage of HSHA’s adoptable dog population so, we invite all animal lovers (and their leashed canine pals of all breeds) each year to join us for a free, fun-filled day celebrating breed equality: the Pittie Party! 

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) is encouraging adopters to think about adding two cats to their family, not just one.  During this adoption special, anyone who adopts two cats/kittens, will only pay one adoption fee.

In an effort to encourage more dog adoptions, the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) has introduced two new initiatives:  a Longest Resident Foster-to-Adopt
program and a new “Meet Your Match” adoption application.

We may be experiencing a summer heat wave but the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) is celebrating like its Christmas Day! HSHA’s annual Christmas in July Adopt-a-Thon features a reduced adoption rate of $20 for all dogs and $10 for cats, kittens and critters. The reduced adoption rate still includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip and basic vaccines!

Break out your tie-dye, bell bottoms, and flower crowns, and join us for a one-of-a-kind music festival located right at our shelter! The event features performances by local musicians, groovy activities for both humans and dogs, food, raffles, and lots of other fun.  Cost is pay by donation (with a suggested minimum donation of $10 per person)!
